SOUTHAMPTON FAIR TRADE GROUP
Southampton Fair Trade Group was formed in 2003 to work towards Fairtrade City status for Southampton, which was achieved in 2004. Since then, they’ve organised a range of activities to make fair trade an important part of Southampton life. See their website for details of conferences, links with both Southampton’s Fairtrade Universities, stalls and markets, and for the City Fairtrade Directory , regularly updated. In 2007 they adopted a new name – Southampton Fair Trade Group – to embrace aspects of fair trade which for good reasons are not covered by the FAIRTRADE Mark, and to set promoting fair trade within the wider context of trade justice, interlinked with other world inequalities.
